The rest of the Swine Flu storyline begins on Friday, along with previews of the bits and pieces that I’m working on and have worked on for my next printed issue. Don’t miss it! Yup.
So, like I was saying, I’m working on my next printed issue, and I really want this one to be big. I was racking my brain, trying to think of what I can do to just make this the biggest comic possible, and it hit me: Who can make any book huge? Who has that magic touch that can get millions of people reading something mediocre that they wouldn’t otherwise have an interest in? Oprah, of course! I need to get this next issue to be an Oprah book club book, and I’ll be set! Just as long as I don’t cross her and she doesn’t decide to James Frey me, that is. So, in the interest of maximizing the book club potential for the next issue, I’ve decided to include backmatter, consisting of an interview with me and a Readers’ Group Guide. This is page one of the interview that I’ve given. Fame and fortune are almost here, I can feel it. Taste it. Thank you in advance, Oprah.
Things begin to speed toward their harrowing conclusion.
Just a quick note to let people know why I seem to have dropped off the face of the earth. I’m working as fast as I can to get material ready to go for my next single issue so that it will be printed in time for APE. Starting Friday, I’ll begin to post the material that I’ve been working on for the issue, and soon after the conclusion of the Swine Flu storyline. Yup. See you there!
This one serves a functional purpose, as if I just want to post text on here, it still leaves that space above where a comic should be, so I needed some kind of graphic to fill it. This comic is kind of making fun of blogs and social networking, I guess, but the reason I made it is because I’m starting to see potential in all these sort of fliterless media for artistic expression, and I think that there are interesting possibilities here in the intersections between the traditional sort of autobiographical comic and the potentially even greater narcissism of an autobiographical blog. Yep. Could be, anyway. So we’ll see what I do with it.
Ok, I was falling behind for a bit there, but now I’m doing four posts at once to make up for it. If you’re following any of the stuff going on here, you should go read all four, ’cause they mostly tie in in one way or another. The next installment of the Swine Flu storyline was dated as the post for this Monday, so there’s that. Yep.
About this post, I’ll just say that I don’t think there’s any shot at Family Circus cheap enough that I won’t take it.
