Hey there,
I just found your stuff and I just wanted to say how great I think it is. I love your drawings and the bleakness is endearing (feel free to steal that for your tag line).
Thanks, I’m glad you like what you’ve read. I’m also glad that you find the bleakness endearing… A lot of people tell me that they think the strip is so sad, or at least that some of them are, and I try to explain that this is what I do to get rid of the sad, or make fun of it at least, and I never see the strips as all that sad. Well, some of them I guess, but it’s a fine line, and I’m always glad when people understand that.
Oh my god yes. Yes, yes, YES. I knew there was a reason I dug you so much. Captain EO is one the greatest 3D anythings ever made. What an incredible piece of craftsmanship. And Michael Jackson was a god to any impressionable child who saw him in that suit, friendly with that fuzzy flying thing that came SO GODDAMN FAR OFF THE SCREEN you couldn’t help but reach out and try to touch it.
I kept waiting for Jackson to make his big come back. I know it was “planned”, but honestly, I think he lost interest in the whole thing after the mid-90′s. I think he’d been there/done that and just wanted something else out of life but, maladjusted as he was to anything BUT being a superstar, life sucked for ‘im. Nice tribute boyo.
It’s been a couple of weeks now, and I’m still getting more obsessed with Michael Jackson. For some reason when I was drunk on Friday night I felt the next to post his Motown 25 performance on my Myspace. Don’t be too surprised if you see Michael Jackson-themes comics popping up on here soon.
